CHAPTER 10 ~ WHITE SUITS

Olivia, Dad, and I sit at the breakfast table eating war hog bacon and home station raised chicken eggs. So a war hog is the descendant of domesticated pigs. They are plumper and a lot fatter and their eyes are bigger than an apple. They breed like crazy so they make for a good source of food.

"I can't believe you guys killed another demon. How many is that now?" Dad asked.

"Four total I think," I said.

"Geez save some for the rest of us why don't you?" He said.

"Sorry, dad we are the apex predators around here," I said winking at Olivia.

"Haha keep believing what you want," Dad said patting me on the back.

We all have a laugh about it until I notice two Legion soldiers come to our front door with Leo. My father and I stand up quickly to greet them.

"Mr. Ryan sir, Deckard wishes to speak with you. And bro you are needed by the Blakely family," Leo said in a serious tone.

Olivia comes out from behind me.

"What does my family want?" She asked.

"You girly," Leo said.

"Well alright," She said.

Olivia and I grab our jackets and walk out the door with Leo.

I turn around to say something. "Dad, we will talk later," I said

"Alright, come find me when you can," Dad said.

Olivia, Leo, and I walk to her family's side of the station in silence. Her father and mother are waiting outside. They look like they are hiding something.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Blakely," Leo said.

"Hello Leo, thank you for bringing them we need you three inside now," Mrs. Blakely said.

I look at Olivia and I grab her hand and we walk inside without saying a word. Alex and Aiden are waiting in the living room for us. Sam comes walking down the stairs.

"There you guys are," Sam said cheerily.

"We are here," I said.

We all pile into the living room Leo takes Aiden's seat and she sits in his lap. Alex and Sam share the couch. I let Olivia have the recliner I prop up against the archway.

Dale Blakely walks in and stands in front of the mantelpiece.

"Listen up everyone," He said.

We all sit attentive ready for him to speak.

"I know that you guys have been having fun and we know you all plan on leaving out tomorrow for Aurora but we want to throw you guys a party for old times sake," He said with a grin.

Olivia's expression went from content to embarrassment.

"Dad come on really?" She asked sinking down into the recliner.

"Ugh yeah because this world is damaged and dangerous we want to enjoy every moment we are given with you kids," Dale said.

I look at Olivia and smile.

"It is a good idea to have one more night of fun before we head back to business," I said in agreement.

"Fine but no crazy embarrassing stories," She protested.

"Now I'm definitely going to love this party bro!" Leo shouted.

I remember my dad had to go talk to Deckard. The thought worries me a little.

"Hey guys I'm going to go check on my dad, Deckard needed him for something earlier.
